These tasty ginger chews are perfect for any time you want a sweet treat, but they’re especially good after you eat a big meal.
Why? Because their ingredients can help with indigestion. Plus, they’re ideal to have on hand if you suffer from nausea, motion sickness, gas or bloating, or an upset stomach.
All the ingredients are highly nutritious, making them ideal to add to a detox diet, and even if you’re not detoxing, they’re still going to work a whole bunch of magic for you, from the inside out.
Ginger Chew Ingredients
Ginger is basically a mini medicine chest, all on its own.
It contains 115 different chemical components, but the good stuff is found in gingerols, which is the oily resin of the ginger root. Ginger has long been studied for its positive effects on health, from helping to prevent strokes and heart disease to soothing an upset digestive system (1).
Ginger also has antibiotic properties, can help relieve pain, and also works to help balance blood sugar.
Almonds are an excellent natural detoxifier.
Among nuts, they have the highest level of vitamin E, plus they’re high in fiber, calcium, magnesium and protein.
All of those properties means that almonds can help normalize your blood sugar levels while keeping your digestion humming (2).
For this recipe I use a raw almond butter to get the maximum from the health benefits.
Cinnamon adds a final spicy tang to these chews, and brings yet more healthful goodness.
Not only is it packed with antioxidants, it helps balance your blood sugar and is a powerful anti-inflammatory.
Cinnamon also can help boost your immune system, protect your dental health, and boost your mood (3).
As you can see these chews will benefit anyone, whether they’re on a detox diet, suffering from a stomachache, or just looking for a sweet treat.
You’ll find that kids love them too, and they’re a much better sweet treat to keep in the house than traditional sugar-laden candy.
