With a subtle aroma and a refreshing and gorgeous color, this turmeric tonic is just what you need any time you feel your liver is tired or sluggish, your digestion is slow, or your mood needs a boost.
There are some superfoods I like to make sure I always have in stock, and turmeric is something that’s never missing from my supply. This tonic combines the healing powers of turmeric in a delicious drink to detoxify your body and your mind.
Turmeric, the amazing golden treasure of Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine, is a root with seemingly magic powers. Initially it was used for digestive problems because it reduces flatulence and adult colic, but has since become highly praised for its exceptional anti-inflammatory effects.
Its health-promoting action is due to a phytonutrient called curcumin, the primary active agent in turmeric, with extensive anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, comparable in effect to some over-the-counter drugs but without the side effects.
Inflammation is the first trigger of chronic diseases such as cancer, and avoiding or reducing it is the number one step you should make when going on a healthy diet. Adding turmeric to your daily nutrition decreases the risk of developing cancer, because curcumin not only reduces inflammation, but also reduces free radical damage to DNA and inhibits the growth of cancer cells, especially those of the colon, which regenerate at every three days.
This tonic uses the combined health beneficial action of three powerful ingredients:
Turmeric – for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and cancer inhibiting action;
Lemon – for its exceptional antioxidant powers;
Ginger – for stimulating the metabolism and circulation, soothing the digestive system, and detoxifying cells by the intense action of gingerol, its primary active substance.
If you are on an intense detox diet, I recommend having this tonic three times a day before main meals to stimulate digestion and tone your system. To benefit from it exceptional nutrients, I drink this every morning on an empty stomach for a week every month. It warms up my metabolism, gives me energy, and restores my cells, giving me an instant good mood boost.
