Cleansing Chocolate Chia Pudding
Breakfast is the best time to start nourishing your body with quality nutrients for supporting its natural detox function throughout the day. A smoothie bowl, fresh juice, or a creamy porridge are all great choices, but when I really want to indulge and give my body a good cleanse first thing in the morning, I make my favorite chocolate chia pudding. It’s filling, tastes delicious, and it’s loaded with soluble fiber to stimulate cleansing. The perfect combination!
The tiny chia seeds have big nutritional value. Along with magnesium, protein and manganese, they contain high concentrations of omega-3 essential fatty acids and soluble fiber, all essential for supporting the healthy activity of your body and its natural detox ability.
Just one serving of chia seeds contains about 10 grams of dietary fiber, making them a cleansing superstar. Both soluble and insoluble fiber are a great addition to your diet, as they reduce the amount of time the food spends in your system. Thy accelerate metabolism and cleanse toxins, waste, and excess cholesterol, helping your colon flush them out and reducing the risk of chronic disease.
Essential fatty acids such as omega-3 (which chia seeds are packed with) are crucial for the detoxification process. The body metabolizes the omega-3 in healthy fat it needs for restoring and regenerating the cells, including the ones of our brain! This essential fatty acid has also anti-inflammatory properties. Since inflammation is among the top triggers of chronic disease, adding chia seeds to your daily diet puts your body on track for health.
Pairing chia seeds with raw cacao is not only a delicious choice, but also a highly nourishing one. Raw cacao is one of the antioxidant superfoods, comparable to berries, red wine, or green tea. It contains unique combinations of antioxidant polyphenol compounds called flavonoids, which reduce the damage done by free radicals and the oxidative stress in your cells.
Raw cacao also contains important concentrations of magnesium (an essential mineral for the detox process), calcium, the antioxidant vitamin E, and key B complex vitamins.
This chia pudding not only tastes delicious, but also gives your cells the right nutrients to start the day energized and to kick-start start your natural detox systems right from the beginning of your day.
