Why do we love easy, no-hassle detox smoothies? Let us count the ways. Seriously: they don’t require exotic or hard-to-find ingredients, you can tailor them to your particular health needs (as well as your personal tastes), and they’re a quick, easy, and tasty way to pack a bunch of nutrients into your day.
Most of the time I include ingredients that boost my immune system, contain lots of antioxidants, and give me natural energy. But from time to time I include ingredients that add extra value, like offering up a detoxing blast to eliminate any harmful toxins that are lurking about.
This simple 3-ingredient detox smoothie is a perfect example.
You’ll definitely want to blend this up for yourself or the family every morning. You can sit down and enjoy it together, or take it with you if you’re on the run.
Don’t be surprised when you find yourself with more energy, glowing skin, improved sleep, and maybe even down a pound or two on the bathroom scale. The best part is that overall feeling of wellness that happens when all of your body’s cogs are working together properly.
3-Ingredient Detox Smoothie Ingredients
These humble fruits are packed with vitamins, minerals, polyphenols which act as an antioxidant, and pectin which helps cleanse the blood and prevent plaque build up in your arteries (1).
Green apples give your digestive system a rest, flush out toxins and alkalize (basically, restoring your body’s pH balance) your body, improving your energy and vitality – exactly what you want from a detox smoothie (2).
These greens are a must. Spinach brings fiber and sulfur to this smoothie, which are important for keeping your liver healthy and happy (3). If fresh spinach is not in season, you can replace it with a green powder that contains organic spinach, alongside many other alkalizing ingredients with a strong detoxifying effect.
This spice has been used medicinally for centuries, and you only need a little for it to work its magic.
It has a cleansing and stimulating effect on your digestive system, helps to ease bloating, gas and inflammation, and ultimately helps your body further eliminate toxins from your colon, liver and other organs (4).
This recipe contains a grated knob or one teaspoon of ginger powder, which I add to almost all of my smoothies for its wonderful health benefits.

- 1 green apple, cut into cubes
- 1-inch ginger knob, peeled
- 1 cup spinach, fresh
- 1 cup purified water (or unsweetened vegan milk of choice)
- Optional: 2 tsp chia seeds for extra fiber and a pinch cayenne for boosting metabolism
- Add all the ingredients into the blender and process to obtain a creamy liquid.
- Drink immediately.
